“Vote for Mi Barrio” painted by Detroit artist SW Freddy depicts the community in a huddle. Huddled up to get team unity. With a special ode to the working class city’s sports teams, the collaboration with local Popular Democracy affiliate Detroit Action, led to this powerful mural in the SouthWest Detroit area. #WeVoteWeRent sends the messages of the current housing struggle, as Detroit’s formerly institutionally abandoned neighborhoods, are today being gentrified.
