Dasic Fernandez + Make The Road New York + New York Communities for Change
“Vota Por Mi'“, painted by world-renowned muralist Dasic Fernández, is the first in a nationwide project aimed at increasing civic leadership and political participation in immigrant and working-class communities. The mural project, which is being reinterpreted by different artists in at least 50 cities across the United States, carries the message “Vota Por Mi”—a reminder of the importance of voting to safeguard the rights of marginalized communities. Featuring Dasic’s signature colorful dot style, ‘Vota Por Mi’ was worked on for over a week by dozens of Make the Road New York and New York Communities for Change members, students, and residents of Hempstead, Long Island, NY.
